The 51st BookBench has arrived!
Friday the 26th September, 2014
The wait is finally over. The 51st BookBench has arrived!
Back in July when we launched Books about Town, The Guardian also ran a poll asking readers to vote for their favourite literary work to be immortalised as a BookBench.
After weeks of close voting, Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere was chosen as the 51st BookBench.
Illustrator and cartoonist Chris Riddell has brought the bench to life with a fantastic design.
The Neverwhere BookBench
will be displayed at King’s Place, an award-winning building in Kings Cross, from today onwards. Make sure you visit our newest BookBench and share your photos with us.
The rest of our wonderful BookBenches are leaving the trails soon, so don't miss out on the chance to visit them also.
The BookBenches are being taken off the trails soon and will be sold at auction on 7 October at an exclusive event at the Southbank Centre. You can buy tickets from the box office, or register to bid online. For more auction information click here
